Imagine this, you're thirteen
years old and it's really important to be cool, but
you're not! Other kids goof on you, and girls think
you're a total geek loser! You desperately wish things
would change, but nothing ever does, it's the same
boring existence all the time and it's driving you
insane.
Then one day you're distracted in the middle
of class by strange happenings in the schoolyard,
and because you weren't paying attention to the teacher
you're on detention.
Once there you slip away to read a comic book, it's
your therapy, the only kind that works. But when you
come out of hiding the school has become this really
weird laboratory that looks like a spaceship.
You try to run away, but you're
zapped by an atomic ray that blows you into another
world where this amazing dude starts to tell you how
to change, and how to be cool.
He tells you you've
got some kind of super power, and now you've got stuff
to do, like save the universe and everything in it.
It's blowing your mind, it can't be true. But slowly
you begin to realize, this is really freaking happening!
And that's just the beginning.

Jacob and I are still reading the book together, and I have to tell you,
we're really enjoying it. I was laughing to the point of tears when Ron
the security guard freaks out over John's freak out. Very funny.
